The world meets the unique performing arts scene of Brussels in this three-day presentation platform focused on Belgium-based artists. Plat(e)form(e) was born from a desire to support and highlight the local scene by drawing on the presence of international artists and the increased visibility created by the festival. More than a showcase, its most important function is that of an artist-centred meeting place. By presenting performances, works in progress, and pitches by artists, Plat(e)form(e) acts as a temporary space for mutual learning, and a place to reflect on what it means to create today. Also within this framework, SACD will host an open seminar discussing writing in the field of documentary theatre.
Plat(e)form(e) is produced in cooperation with Kunstenpunt/Flanders Arts Institute and Wallonie-Bruxelles Théâtre Danse (WBTD), and includes collaboration with openoffice, an informal network of Flemish and French-speaking production houses in Belgium. All Plat(e)form(e) activities are presented during the daytime, free of charge, and open to everyone in the performing arts.
