Free School
For several years now, the Free School has supported and presented artistic projects that imagine new models for learning and transmitting knowledge. The program investigates how knowledge is conveyed and who conveys that knowledge in a city like Brussels. Each year, the Free School delves into a specific discipline. In this edition, the focus is on the learning of languages.
The 2023 programme features The School of Integration / Lexicon, a project conceived by Cuban artist Tania Bruguera that presents a series of language courses. The Free School also includes our discursive programme, The Politics of Language, and a selection of texts from Notes on Mother Tongues and The Autobiography of a Language by Lebanese writer Mirene Arsanios included in the festival brochure.
