Born in 1990 in Taiwan, Wei-Yao Hung studied acting at the Taipei National University of the Arts before founding his own theatre company and beginning his work as a director-creator. He writes and directs all of his works, and enjoys exploring diverse theatrical forms—including lecture-performance, participatory theatre, and immersive theatre. He is adept at using scenography and the performers’ bodies as narrative tools, creating a warm yet abstract, chaotic, and absurd theatrical aesthetic.
In 2026, Wei-Yao was invited to present No (Political) Party at the Taiwan International Festival of Arts (TIFA). He has also been invited four times to the Taipei Arts Festival, where he created the Sibling Trilogy: Family Romance (2019), Grandmother Paradox (2020), Three Produced Everything (2022), and Family Triangle (2025).
