Menno Vandevelde Antwerp

Menno Vandevelde (°1988) graduated in 2010 as an industrial engineer in electromechanics at Groep T in Leuven. Since childhood, he has been creating installations and other works with Jozef Wouters and his brother Michiel Vandevelde. Their collaboration has notably resulted in OPERA/een werkstuk (2008, fABULEUS), Festiviteit (2006, fABULEUS) and Ichten (2007, Villanella). In 2009 they created the project TOREN/ een voorstelling voor pendelaars, for the first time under the name of their collective, mennomichieljozef. Menno Vandevelde is currently at work with Michiel on various circus big tops and with Jozef on the stadium/stadion project.

Michiel Soete (°1986) studied to be an actor/director at the Rits in Brussels. In 2007 he played in the performance Body Mappingand created Tarnish, a dance performance, at kc nOna in Mechelen (BE). In April 2008 he was artist-in-residence at DeWerf in Bruges. He directed Quando La Carne Comincia A Gridare in Brussels, based on a text by Pasolini, and made a performance about the mythical figure Prometheus: Subjects of Reduced Mobility. He played in Geloof mij! by Laika, Production House for Youth Concerts (NL), as well as in Me Gusta and Cucinema, two dinner theatre performances by Laika. In 2009 Michiel Soete created Per Me Non Basto, a performance about total destruction, at STUK in Leuven, and Known Some Call Is Air Am, a performance on location, supported by the Trans-Europa Festival Hildesheim (DE) and kc nOna. In September of that year he directed a performance with seven youths at DeWerf (BE): We Are The Streets. Now in 2011 he is working on the performance Animals Ago and, together with Bas Devos, is preparing the performance Burning Man, which premiers in October 2011 at kc nOna.
