Cedric Mizero Kigali-Gishoma
Cedric Mizero is a performer, filmmaker, and visual artist. Originally from Gishoma, in Rwanda’s Western Province, he began experimenting with his clothing and different styles as early as his teenage years. In 2012, he moved to Kigali, where he began interacting with fashion designers and artists. A self-taught artist, he chooses to blend disciplines in his work, experimenting with paint, textures, fabrics and immobile objects. Mizero has a deep connection with nature, culture and people, and his inspiration stems from emotional and sensory experiences. His long-term project Fashion for All is part of his broader artistic efforts to increase the visibility of the inhabitants of Rwanda’s poorer and more rural regions. In 2018, Cedric Mizero was selected to participate in the International Fashion Showcase 2019 where his project Dreaming My Memory was awarded a Special Mention for “Curation”.
