Doruntina Kastrati Prishtina

Doruntina Kastrati (b. 1991 Prizren, Kosovo) works across sculpture, installation, sound, and moving image to explore the body’s relationship to biopolitical power. Informed by archival research, field visits, and oral histories, her artistic practice interrogates the structural violence embedded in industrial labour, particularly as it intersects with gender, architecture, design, and the biopolitical control of bodies through repetition and confinement.
She represented Kosovo at the 60th Venice Biennale with the sculptural and audio installation The Echoing Silences of Metal and Skin, for which she received a Special Mention for National Participation (2024). Selected exhibitions include the 18th Istanbul Biennial (2025); Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry (2025); Autostrada Biennale; Manifesta 14, Prishtina (2022); Bigger than Myself at MAXXI Museum, Rome (2021); and Not Fully Human, Not Human At All at Kunverein in Hamburg and KADIST, Paris (2021), among others.
