Angélica Liddell Madrid
Angélica Liddell (°1966, Figueres, Girona) founded ATRA BILIS TEATRO in 1993. Her groundbreaking work has been staged worldwide and translated into multiple languages, including French, English, German, Japanese, and Italian. Her recent productions, including Dämon—which opened the Festival d’Avignon 2024, La casa de la fuerza, Liebestod, The Scarlet Letter, and Qué haré yo con esta espada, have been presented at major theatres across Europe, America, and Asia, receiving critical acclaim.
Liddell has been widely recognised with numerous awards: Spanish National Dramatic Literature Award (2012), Venice Biennale Silver Lion for Theatre (2013), LETEO Literature Prize (2016), Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters (France, 2017), French Critics’ Union Prize for Best Foreign Show for Dämon.
