La Bellone is a residency space and documentation centre dedicated to performing arts; a resource for the artistic community that's open to the city, its residents, their knowledge and initiatives. La Bellone is a place for creation and encounters devoted to research, reflection, and artistic experimentation. Through its residencies it offers artists the opportunity to let loose from the constraints of production demands - allowing them to nourish, deepen, and expand ongoing or future creative processes. La Bellone is not a venue for public performance or dissemination. However, because artistic creation informs society, and because artistic knowledge is a valuable and necessary form of social knowledge, La Bellone organises and hosts a wide range of public events where questions, knowledge, and practices are shared. Not only about artistic creation in itself, but also society as a whole. These events are intended for both artists and art world professionals, as well as anyone curious about reflective thinking and acting within our sociopolitical context. The building, a piece of historical architectural heritage, is also home to several associations. Together, they turn this place into a space of ongoing exchange and constant movement - despite the apparent stillness of the old stones the building is made up of.
