Once again, festival weekends are all about partying, including our unmissable opening (09.05) and closing (31.05) parties. These nights are free and open to all, featuring DJ sets and live music by artists from Brussels and around the world. 

Friday May 9th — Opening After Party (De Vaartkapoen)

For the occasion, DJs, live musicians, and hybrid acts who seamlessly blend sonorities originating from SWANA regions with electronic sounds and multiple other genres will take over VK.

Newly-formed Brussels experimental trio 3AXS (Nazanin Yalda, Kamel Badarneh, Joseph Jadam) will start us off with a live showcase, before Moroccan singer-rapper LALLA RAMI blesses us with a unique enchanting performance. These live acts will be intercut with DJ sets by special guest Sarra Wild, and local hero Lamia. Finally, Bader Shashit and Acid Ponch of Yalla Soundsystem will close the night off with an exceptional B2B hybrid set.

Saturday May 10th —Sonic Saturday #1 HE4RTBROKEN (Beursschouwburg)

For this first Sonic Saturday, we are partnering with HE4RTBROKEN. Never shying away from the melodramatic tone of their name, the Brussels-based collective is known for events that induce melodrama and catharsis, by focusing on feelings and reinvention rather than on defined music genres. This also being the first party in our 2025 festival centre, what better housewarming activity than karaoke! HE4RTBROKEN has carefully curated a selection of emotional songs for us to sing our heart out, and has also invited Gem&I to bless the decks alongside them with DJs to help us overcome our emotional breakdowns.
