Sorour Darabi Paris
Sorour Darabi is a self-taught Iranian artist who lives and works in Paris.Very active in Iran, Darabi is part of the underground association ICCD whose Untimely festival (Tehran) hosted his-her works prior to his-her departure to France. During his studies at the CCN in Montpellier he-she created Subject to Change, a solo performance that questions transformation over time and our coexistence with the environment. For the Montpellier Danse festival in 2016, he-she created Farci.e, a solo dealing with the notions of language, gender identity, and sexuality. His-her latest project, Savušun, is an ode to affection, vulnerability and affected beings, which draws inspiration from Muharram’s mourning ceremonies and addresses the issue of emotions: grief, fear and suffering. Additionally, he-she was an interpreter for Jule Flierl and Pauline Brun.
