Łukasz Twarkowski
A creator of multimedia performances combining theatre and visual arts, Łukasz Twarkowski’s projects centre on extending reality through multimedia. A crucial element of his creative work is that of investigating the ability and limitations of theatre as a medium and tool of communication. Through permanently deconstructing narratives, questioning the fixed habits of the audience and the meaningful usage of new media, Twarkowski creates an original language of stage performance based on multimedia and, more widely, digital technologies. In applying these tools, he analyses and observes increasingly complex relationships between the real, the symbolic, and the imagined. His projects feature in festivals and on European stages. He’s currently an associate artist at the Onassis Stegi cultural centre in Athens.
