Ali Asghar Dashti Tehran

Ali Asghar Dashti is an Iranian theatre director and performance artist with over three decades of activity in theatre and performing arts. He began his professional career in 1993 and is the founder and artistic director of the Don Quixote Theatre Group, with which he has created more than 27 projects presented in Iran and internationally.
His works have been staged at major national and international festivals and have received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the Fajr International Theatre Festival in 2018 for For (named). The group’s recent production, We Came to Dance!—the second part of The Tables Project—has been presented at Kunstenfestivaldesarts, the Milan Triennale, Short Theatre Rome, and Festival d’Automne à Paris, among others.
Alongside his artistic practice, Dashti has taught at the University of Tehran and Tehran University of Art. He currently serves as Head of the Theatre Department at Tehran Fine Arts Conservatory and as Artistic Director of the Theatre Department at the cultural complex MEEM Art Levels in Tehran. He is also an active writer and researcher in the field of performing arts.
