Anacarsis Ramos
Anacarsis Ramos (° 1996) is a playwright, set designer and stage director, self-taught in theatre and sociology. Most of his work is developed through Pornotráfico, a company he co-runs with Karla Sánchez Kiwi, Erik Gutiérrez Otto, Santiago Villalpando, Fausto Castaño, and Moisés Romero. His creative process investigates the interplay between social reality and its media representation. He’s particularly interested in the diverse applications of fiction across state, private, and community contexts, with the aim of creating plays that expose the descriptive choices influencing the political narratives which shape our society. Lyricism, humour, and parody are consistently incorporated into his pieces to highlight this construction of reality. In addition to his scenic projects, Ramos engages in pedagogical initiatives and writes about theatre on his blog, Mataclase. His works have been presented in numerous theatres and at festivals throughout Mexico.
